The Druid's Bird

Each New Moon my friends and I draw a card from the Druid Animal Oracle deck. The latest card I drew was the Wren, so I typed up a section of the notes about the meaning of the Wren. He is very beautiful!

There is much to be known

I'm currently reading the Chronicles of Prydain series by Lloyd Alexander. The second book in the series is The Black Cauldron, in which an Aragorn-like figure named Adaon appears. In conversation with Taran, the central character, Adaon says this - a beautiful statement which has much in common with a Druidic view of life and nature:

The very beginning

The first post on Hand-woven Tales! Written in ink on a Rhodia block notepad, and then typed up on my Olivetti Dora typewriter. (And, as a concession to modern tech, the image was captured on an iPad!)

Life - especially my day job - is very de-centering at the moment. This short poem was written as a quiet word to myself, and as a way of carving out some time in the day to remind myself that I exist for more than just ploughing my way through a list of tasks
